Break a Leg
Ninety minutes before the one time one man performance of Victor Bohjakovi's play, the stage manager Paula Esperante realizes that the van with the majority of the props, costumes and equipment is missing. She can't tell Victor. But the show must go on.
In 2010 my son Vincent, 19 at the time, was knocked off his motorcycle while driving home from work at 11 pm by a "distracted" driver. His tibia and ankle were broken and the hospitalization and recovery was more than bizarre. At the same time I had a student teacher who has Multiple Sclerosis and her medical journey was equally odd. I combined these two lived stories and it turned into a comedy that plays for ninety minutes in real time. This is a farce written for companies with endless imagination and no budget and audiences that lean forward instead of sitting back.
